Pattern:
Place slip knot on anchor peg and yarn over cast on peg 1 to peg 41 (Working in a flat panel).
Row 1 Slip peg 41, purl to peg 2, and Ewrap peg 1.
Row 2 Slip peg 1, purl to peg 40, and Ewrap peg 41.
Row 3 Slip peg 41, purl to peg 2, and Ewrap peg 1.
Row 4 Slip peg 1, purl to peg 40, and Ewrap peg 41.
Row 5 Slip peg 41, purl to peg 2, and Ewrap peg 1.
Row 6 Slip peg 1, purl to peg 40, and Ewrap peg 41.

Closing the top of the hat or cowl
With the color of your choice make two 2 peg Icords about 32 inchs long, longer if you wish. Thread the Icord into the top, where you purled the rows 1 to 14. Tie the icord into a bow for a hat or let the icord hang for a cowl.
