I used 3 strands of Caron Simply Soft yarn in the color Gray Heather

Pattern:
Crochet cast on all 41 pegs in the round.
Rows 1 to 12 Double rib stitch U-knit 2 and Purl 2 (Purl the last peg).
Rows 13 to 17 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 1, U-knit 3 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be U-knitted).

Row 18 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 4 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be Purled).
Row 19 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 1, U-knit 3 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be U-knitted).
Row 20 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 4 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be Purled).
Row 21 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 1, U-knit 3 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be U-knitted).
Row 22 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 4 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be Purled).

Row 23 to 27 Purl 1, U-knit 1, Purl 1, U-knit 3 repeat to the end of the rows (last 2 pegs should be U-knitted).
